It’s always more fun to draw a portrait of a person who inspires you, especially when she has a bit of an attitude and immaculate style. Meschiya Lake, a singer from New Oleans who recently moved to Europe, ticks all the boxes.

I absolutely love her music what can best be described as a melting pot of New Orleans jazz, swing, ragtime, big band and dixieland, what more could we wish for? Her shows are always great because Meschiya’s a very talented singer, dancer and performer, and of course the musicians she plays with are very talented too. And on top of that, not only Meschiya dances all night long, sometimes even accompanied by her (dance)partner, but also her audience knows how to rock&roll.
