Livingroom moodboard

Moodboard: Our Livingroom

While trying to find the right images to depict the atmosphere and colour palette of our livingroom, I could suddenly appoint what I often miss in many beautiful interiors you find in magazines and online.

For me quite some minimal, Scandinavian interiors lack a certain feel of life. They’re a bit too perfect and over styled which gives a room an artificial feel. Almost like you’re living in a shopwindow. Also I often miss a certain male touch, a rawness, nonchalance or spontaneity.

Therefore I kept in mind the moodboard of our livingroom should harbour a living vibe, show real homes, where people live and feel at home. A livingroom that isn’t perfect, but perfect for its inhabitants. Colourful and nice, cosy but not too sweet.

Ochre and greens have always been my favorite colors, both recurring colors in this moodboard. We’re also planning on mixing old and new, some vintage pieces to add soul and new pieces to make the space feel modern. Of course we’ll bring in our own, personal accessories. The room will have a minimal base, livened up with some colourful eye-catchers.

Although this is just a moodboard and our living room wil definitely have its own look and feel, I already feel very enthusiastic just looking at these pictures. I can’t wait to style and decorate our own living room, to hang on our couch and know we’re at home.

bedroom moodboard

Moodboard: Our Bedroom

Since making moodboards for our bathroom and kitchen was actually a very fun and easy process, I never expected making one for the most subdued room of our home would be this difficult. To find pictures of beautiful bedrooms isn’t really that hard, but finding the right pictures to combine into a moodboard of óur bedroom turned out to be a bit more compelling.

And even though our bedroom probably won’t be the most exciting room of our home, it for sure will be one of the most important ones. Now you know why I needed a little bit of extra time to finish this new moodboard, but you guys don’t have to wait any longer!

Like most people, we want to give our bedroom a very comfortable, cozy and also personal atmosphere. I always loved how the color of even one wall can change the complete atmosphere of a room. And for our bedroom we’re thinking of using a beautiful grey, green or blue color to give the room a special and serene touch.

Our light wooden closet will provide plenty of storage space and additional shelves can showcase pretty pictures, books and other decorational items. All very simple, tasteful and personal.

Feeling extra inspired with the completion of this moodboard, I promise the next one won’t take me this long. So you guys better stay tuned, more home inspiration is on its way!

Bathroom moodboard

Moodboard: Our Bathroom

As you all know our future home is being build as we speak. Because some decisions have to be made early in the process, we do already have a pretty good idea of what some of the rooms are going to look like.
I already showed a sneak preview of our kitchen and now it’s time to reveil a little bit of our future bathroom. I’m not going to tell you everything yet, but this moodboard will give a first impression.

While designing your bathroom there are three important factors to keep in mind:

  • space : our future bathroom will be tiny, therefore we have to be careful with the use of our space. We for example don’t have room for a bathtub and have to do with a shower only. No big deal to me, but a big decision to be made.
  • tiles : working for Mosa, one of the most trend setting tile producers in the world, we have the opportunity to choose from a selection of very beautiful and even more beautiful floor and wall tile collections. Knowing we wanted to play with different colourtones, our final decision was influenced by the size of our bathroom; one tile collection will fit perfectly in our tiny bathroom and has the exact colour tones we love.
  • furniture : what look or feel would you like the furniture and other elements to have? We decided to go for minimal, light wooden cabinets. Because the tiles had been decided upon already, most important for us was the colour & look of the cabinets to mix with the tiles. And we did find the perfect match!

I hope these tips will help you in the process of designing your own perfect bathroom. Stay tuned for more sneak previews and home inspiration!

Kitchen moodboard

Moodboard: Our Kitchen

As you guys know we’re super excited about this year’s biggest project, our soon to be build brand new – so much bigger than this apartment and still really cozy – house (check out more of our project here).

With most of the paperwork being taken care of, we finally have time to focus on the fun part of the project; the interior. Having enjoyed making moodboards of my ideal future home for years, this time it’s even more fun, because it’s for real and it feels really special being able to make this dream come true.

It still takes a couple of months before we’ll wake up in our new house, but the party has definitely started here and I can’t wait to show you a glimpse of what it is going to look like. Starting today with some kitchen inspiration.

Years ago I fell in love with Vipp designer Morten Bo Jensen’s home. His black kitchen with light wooden floors has long been one of the biggest inspiration sources for my ideal home. Being careful not to make our interior too design-ish and nice to look at but not to live in, we’ll go for a dark and minimalistic kitchen but with a friendly, living vibe.

Stay tuned for more interior sneak previews, our project is taking more shape every week!
